At a wastewater treatment plant managed by Aspel Srl—a company based in Mantua specializing in the construction and management of civil and industrial wastewater treatment plants—a 7.5 kW AGV surface aerator was recently installed. Normally used to supply oxygen in biological processes, the aerator was employed here in an unconventional way: as a cooling system for the aeration tank.

The goal? To reduce the temperature of the wastewater during the summer months, preserving the vitality of the biomass and ensuring maximum purification efficiency.

This simple yet effective solution is a concrete example of how technical ingenuity and process knowledge can transform existing equipment into versatile tools to meet new operational needs—without the need for complex structural interventions.
